Default Screen Printers Help me out please!

In doing design work specifically for screen work. What is your recommendation for minimum line thickness in pts.?

what would you call a minimum font size for good clean screening?

anything as a screen printer you would say "your better off not doing that"? Design wise and for practical purposes?

thanks
Brian

A good line point size should be beyond 0.8 pts or even higher than 1.0 pts ... if used for stationary based screen to be developed .... but if you go for textiles where you need to print plastisol, pigments etc.... go for higher than 2.0 pts or even higher ... font size can be as per need ... i fine printer even successfully prints as low as 6 pts .... but for better screening should be beyond 10.0 pts ... different fonts have differnt sizes in pts ... so this cannot be particularly said....

Just use good judgement....
...look at detailed t-shirts you may have as reference.

...too small and why would you even bother to print on a tee if it's too small to notice anyways....

Real good printers can handle some pretty fine details....printing on a 305 mesh can handle a lot.....but it really depends on the screenprinter you are working with, and how comfortable they are with your art.

Also take into consideration if its printing a huge run on an auto press....or a short run on a manual press.....since ink builds up over time, and will change your print as you print more and more.

While we are printing and designing for Harley-Davidson apparel, we use some very very detailed imagery, that alot of printers couldn't handle, without some uneasiness....it helps that our printers deal with it everyday.
