Hey everyone, Just wanted to say thanks for the help an advise everyone gives on here!!!!
Anyway, I have Redrawn a 2" by 4" 2 Color Logo on Illustrator. and been able to get through all the steps to make it a 8" Logo. Got my color seps done so that I can print.
But I ran into a block trying to put in Registrations, can anyone give me a step by step on how to put the Registration marks. I see that there is a registration mark on my swatch pallet, but I cant seem to paste it anywhere, it always go straight black when I select it
i use this technique...i draw a plus sign with pen tool and place it on all four corners .... select the artwork along with the cross marks and just start duplicating to separate individual colours ... simple
illustrator will allow you to set up printer marks in it print dialog box. go to file>print. in the options on the left first go to "setup" where it says crop artwork, i set it to "artwork bounding box". next go to "marks and bleed" and check the box "all printer's marks". this will set your crop mark, registration, & color info. next go to "output" set it to separations. if you did the spot colors correctly, only your spot colors will show up in the options. (i also use this as a way to make sure i have no cmyk in my spot files) now go back to "general" and choose your output devise. i save the file as a postscript and open it with my rip software which then prints my films.
i hope this is the answer you were looking for :-)
