Wink Design help

I want to create t shirt designs but I don't have the ability to draw. Do you have any suggestions on how I can create designs. I prefer not to outsource from graphic designers

You didn't give enough information so people can help you. What kinda design, what program do you use if any and so on...It is the same like you would say to us: I want to learn how to cook. Theres a lot of meals you can make...For example-photoshop has more then 30000 different functions...

The obvious answer would be learn to design. I do work in Illustrator and photoshop and few other programs, lots of people here do their work in corel. I think they use gimp as well. So to answer your question based on information which you provided is to learn how to design starting with free tutorials.

I can give you few pointers if you do work in programs which I use..

I have the very basic knowledge of Photoshop. I never did anything huge, I just did small things that add text with font

if you are looking to learn I'd recommend Coral PaintShop Pro, I personally have been using PSP for some number of years and I know that there are many awesome tutorials that you may not need the end product for but from a learning perspective they are awesome... Once you have the basics you can basically go to any program and with minor adjustments in the set up of the programs you can do the same thing.

for example, the image i have attached is
2 separate images
9 layers (base, 2x writing & 6x bibs)
1 specialized font (free download)
This took me about 2 hrs from start to finish because I had to get the bib design right

Hope this helps a little (BTW it is going to be a website banner, not printed)

I go to photoshop when I have enough of everything and I need relax time. I make my self some coffee, put some good music and do photoshop. It relaxes me and I never know what I will make. If I am angry or frustrated that day It shows on my pictures.

If your designs are based mostly on text I would suggest a vector program. This will result in much smaller output files and more control over the finished design. Illustrator and Corel Draw are both industry standards, and Inkscape is a well written program that is a free download.

the last thing i done in PSP to relax was put a poem on a background for my cousin, and tbh it was crappy haha... maybe that's what i need to do is just let my creative side come out to play during this week...

@Ripcord how much does Illustrator differ from PSP? I use PSP because it is what I know and know I can do what I want in it
