How do I do this in Corel X3. I know it's probably simple and I believe I read it somewhere but I'm racking my brain trying to remember where. It's starting to hurt.
I want it to follow the shape, if you didn't get that. I know how to fill a shape with a paragraph, but with one word, I don't know.
for the shape of cross : use pen tool
for shaping the fonts : you may use extrude tool
for colours you need to use : gadient fill
Yes, I don't want to recreate this design, as it is not mine and don't like to ocpy. I just want to get the type to contour to the shape of this or even if I had an opposite shape of wide in the middle and pinched on both ends.
use the envelope tool to make the text look convex &/or concave.
Windows/Dockers/Envelope
or
Ctrl+F7
Holding the shift key and/or the Ctrl key when moving the nodes will reflect the opposite nodes

Thanks Fluid. I figured you would have the answer. I downloaded a tutorial from unleashed the other day for fitting text within the a shape which is good, but it wasn't the same thing.
When I first tried the demo of Corel I loved it. Then I used Photoshop Elements for a month before I got Corel and the learning curve was like a line, straight up! I had to unlearn all the 'bad habits' from adobe.

so you're using corel now. Isn't Elements more of a photo program whereas corel is drawing and design?
I'm using corel photo as well as elements and X3.
