Default faded designs to print

Hey everyone.
I know that it has been talked about in the forums as far as rip software goes, but I'm still really confused on how to go about blending or fading of designs. So, I posted one of my designs to see if its possible to go about doing.

I want to screen print this once i get all of my equipment.
Would this be better to apply using another method, say, heat transfer?

Thanks for any suggestions.
