What a great forum.

Im intrested in getting started printing T-shirts.I purchased equipment here is where Im
stuck.I was told I need to purchase a program
like corel draw to get started.Could someone
please explain why I need a software and whats the advantage thanks for helping a
begginer.

Lance, you didn't say what kind of equipment you have so its hard to say for sure. Corel or other software is to make the film positives to burn on a screens or print on a transfer. Hope it helps. There are free vector based art programs, search the forum.

you need corel for your artwork, unless you plan on drawing everything by hand.

Amp said it well, but if you ever need to send your art work to another person/entity and have them work on it or do anything with it (like screen printers), you'll need to clean it up after scanning (most places prefer vector art work to do anything with)so you'll likely need a graphics program weather or not you do all your drawing by hand. You can get inkscape for free and there are tutorials on the internet on how to use it.
