Default I need help with a CE5000

Hi y'all,
I am in need of some help. I purchased my Ce5000 almost 2 yrs ago. I have been using the signblazer elements , which many of you know is no longer available. I was told today by the guy at JSI sign company in ATL that I c ould export all of my files 2000= files to EPS form and then use coreldraw to cut with using my files. I have never used coreldraw and would not know what in the world to do or how to get it into the cutter. I know this sounds stupid, but for someone who has only used signblazer for any designing, I am far from software savvy. I almost need step by step on how this would be used. I know how to export it into the EPS form files , but that is it. I would so appreciate any help you could offer
Thanks
K

To use Corel Draw you need to install the Cut Master plug in for Corel Draw. Check your User's Manual.

To use EPS file it has to be imported in Corel Draw.
  1. Open Corel.
  2. Click on NEW
  3. Press Alt+L to select the Layer menu.
  4. Press P to select the page setup sub menu.
  5. Change the page size and orientation to match the image being imported.
  6. Press Alt+F to select file menu.
  7. Press I to import a file.
  8. The Import dialog box will open with default All File Format.
  9. Locate the folder that has the EPS file(s).
  10. Double Click the file of interest.
  11. When the image locater with file name appears press enter.
  12. The image will appear in the center of the page.
  13. Add registration marks using Cut Master plug in if needed when contour cutting an image.
  14. Print the Image when contour cutting the image.
  15. Send the image to the plotter/cutter using Cut Master plug in Cut/Plot tool.
The Cut Master plug in tools are part of the Application Launcher Menu that has an Icon shaped like a space ship.

You have the option to save the file as Corel Draw format (Cdr).

Corel built in help is a very good resource for doing anything in Corel Environment.

The real time and dynamic Hints tool is also a good way to learn Corel Draw.

Corel Draw is not hard to learn it just seems complex and intimidating.

Hope the procedure above will help you get started.

Yes you need both. Corel will not work by itself. Although I read people try to treat the plotter/cutter as a printer and send the data to the plotter/cutter. I tried it and it did not work for me.

When you install your CE5000 I assume your software package for the plotter/cutter came with Corel Draw plug in it will be installed. During software installation the Corel Draw plug in is an option for installation when it finds Corel Draw installed in your computer. Again check your User's manual and software installation procedure that came with your plotter. I believe Cut Master plug in for Corel is available for download at Graphtec's website. Try contacting Graphtec and ask for software updates if you do not have Cut Master.

Cut Master came with my Craft Robo Pro CE5000-40-CRP. I also own a CE3000 but it did not come with Corel plug in but it came with Illustrator plug in. Since I have the Cut Master plug installed both of my Plotter/Cutters work with it in Corel Draw.

It is caused by Cutter Offset and knife length. If the knife length is too long it is going to cut into the backing that can cause drag and rounded corner. Check the Test Cutting section in user's manual.

Works great ~ I have had this thing for almost two years and neve4r had to make any adjustments and had to replace my teflon strip and the guy also tightened up the head thingy and it has not worked like it used to since, I think i have it adjusted good now... my pressure is still not exactly the way it was .. sing a new setting on that... UGGGG and that is the most agrovating thing when in a rush and the darn thing doesnt cut all the way thru ~ but I think I have it resolved
*** also anyone have any good sources for carbide blades?*** normally a pack of 5 will last me forevercan normally cut a couple 100 ft rolls with one blade... whats the norm?

Just like anything eventually adjustments and tuning are needed due to wear and tear. My cutter was brand new and the knife carriage was flopping around while cutting. I could not figure out why I can't get a good test cut. It turned out the rollers in the knife carriage was not tight against the guide rail. I wound up fixing it myself.

Here you:

Clean Cut Blade : Blade Catalog

you can also get it from forum preferred vendor, Specialty Graphics. Make sure to check member discount from preferred vendors list.
