Default brush help....Getting a Solid black on the first click

Using Photoshop...I made my Brush.
It is an outline of leaves.
When i click once the outline is there but too light.
Holding it in the same spot and clicking like 5 times to get it as dark as i need it.

Is there a way to get a True black with Just one click???
Thank you!

i have the same problem with some brushes. it's all in how the brush was created. have you tried adjusting the curves??
also, try some blending modes. ) maybe the color overlay. might just have to play with the image to get it the way you want it. a pain but it works .
