Hello,

I'm TOTALLY new to the world of tshirt printing. This is my first time printing shirts.

I have a t-shirt design, but I have no idea how many colors it is for printing purposes.

Here is the image:

As you can see, my logo utilizes 2 colors and then I have a layer of transparent white on top of the bottom half of one word and the top half of the other word.

As far as I know the rest of the design is just black.

Based on my laymen way of counting, this is 5 colors, but I'm confident that I'm wrong when it comes to t-shirt printing.

I'm no expert, but I would say you have three colors (darker blue, lighter blue, and black) with half-tones. If it will be on a white shirt, then you don't have to count white as a color.

Yes - three with halftones, four perhaps or maybe five - depends on the effect that you're after and the budget.
Letters look rough in halftones, you could try index printing but that might not look good an a flat colour. Five will look best.

I see two colors with halftones on a white tee. Blue printed first with black over the top. Three colors if you want to use white.
