Default Getting Image ready for art dept & Flannel pants

I have an image that was made in illustrator (which I barely know how to use) and the art department tells me I have to have it in a certain form and the colors selected and the fonts selected and in vector format. I am not sure how to do this. Can anyone help me out with that.

Also, I need to find 100% plaid type cotton pants that can have a name heat pressed on the butt of them. My daughter bought some of these in Canada last year and they were from Triumph, but I cannot find any anywhere. Any help would be appreciated.

You guys are great and have already helped me learn so much!

What is the "certain form" that the art department is requesting?

You may want to start a separate topic for that in the Wholesale T-Shirts forum so that your question doesn't get lost while folks are trying to help with the first question

perhaps what you mean is they need it in a certain format? you can change the format of your file in illustrator by going to "file>save as" and then choose the format from the pull-down menu. you will probably want to save it as an EPS file, although native illustrator (AI) should be fine, too.

your art department may want you to choose pms colors for your image. you can find those by going to "windows>swatch libraries>(i use) pantone solid coated". this will tell the printer what specific colors you want to use.

your fonts should probably be changed to "outlines". this is done by selecting the text and going to "type>create outline". this will change your font to a vector graphic, eliminating the need for a font file.

i hope this helps!
