Default Getting vectors ready to send to the cutter

Hi
I took a map of NZ off the internet and saved it as a jpg on my pc.
I have now opened it in Illy and used the live trace feature to smooth everything out and get lines the way I want them.
I have clicked expand and the image, so therefor it should now be full vector and should be ready to cut right?
Problem is when i try send it to the cutter the cutter doesnt respond.

p.s. its a Graphtec CE5000-60. The support guys I brought it off said perhaps the graphic wasnt vector yet?

I can send the file to someone if it would help?

I will attach a thum of what im working with

I was unable to open your file using CS2. So niot exactly sure what the trouble may be.

I us Corel most of the time since I am familiar with that.

Try this once. Convert to curves than turn off any fills. You may have to give a line width to everything.

Maybe some simple questions first.

1) Have you cut anything with the current setup?

2) If not, make a simple square with a circle in the center and try and cut this. If you can't get that to cut you may have another problem.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Terry

Hotweels I did get your file to open in Corel.

It needs clean up to be happy with a cutter.

Turn off fill, give it a line width (not sure in AI but corel would be hairline), than you will need to brake apart and delete the box around and will also need to clean up the double lines on everything.

One thing that helps me is to view in wireframe and than zoom in on everything. Whatever lines appear will be cut by your cutter.

Hope this helps alittle

Terry
