Default Convert Transparent PSD to AI for outline trace

I need help!

My manufacturer just switched his equipment from a T-Jet3 to a Roland Vinyl cutter. Using this equipment requires vector imaging. All of my T-Shirt designs are in PSD file format. I have tried to save as a PDF which is in AI file format however, the transparency is compromised and when i go to trace i cant just trace the designs outline. it traces the box as well as all of the shapes within the design. All i am looking for is to trace the designs outline. If you think you can help me i can email a pic of the design.

Thanks
