You do not need t-shirt specific software. All you need is a couple of good programs like Photoshop/Illustrator or Corel Draw...I prefer corel but then other prefer illustrator. If you want to try this type program free, then use Gimp..a photoshop like program that is free and for vector images try inkscape.com it is also free
I totally agree, you can also try out adobe Illustrator and CorelDraw's 30 day free trial to see which one you like and is easiest for you. Just look on the left side of your screen and the links to corel and adobe are there. Goodluck
They end in .org, that's the only thing I'd add on the gimp.org and inkscape.org.
I have heard that Corel is easier to get a handle on then inkscape, but for free, if you have the aptitude for it, that is a great program and used by some on the forum for designing, as their main program.
I picked up a full version of Corel x3 on Ebay for $70 shipped. Good luck to you.
I use inkscape to get my images ready for the vinyl cutter, before that i did not use, it, but it is a very easy tool to use to get images in eps form,
how do i find information on t-shirt software so i can create up to date designs
What are you looking to do? Make designs, logos?
What do you mean by "up to date designs"?
What looks new to you might be an old school design that you saw for the first time.

I see the option of downloading gimp 2.6.3 Is that what you are talking about using? I am also trying to figure out how to use the open clip art gallery through inkscape and how to create... can that be done there?
