Hey guys, i'm sure that my question is somewhere in the forum but i couldn't find my answer. soo sry if it's already been posted.
How do i cut out/isolate an image within a photograph? I've read and watched tutorials telling me to trace out an image with the pen tool but after that i get completely lost. Can anyone give me a step by step tutorial i guess =P on how to cut an image out?
All help and advice is welcomeedd

I would use Photoshop for that and not Illustrator. In Photoshop, use the pen tool to create a clipping path (in the Path tool palette fly-out window select "New Path"). Once you've drawn the path select "Make Selection" (again, from the Path tool palette fly-out window). Then go to Select > Inverse and hit the delete button. That will get rid of everything outside of the path you drew.
If you really want to do it in Illustrator, just use the pen to draw your path and then select both the path (make sure the path is on top) and the object you want to clip and go to Object > Clipping Path > Make.
After you've drawn the path, select it and go to Object > Arrange > Bring to Front.

Easiest way is to go to Select > All. But if there are other objects on your drawing board, it will select them too. If that's the case then just use the selection tool (the black arrow) and hold down the shift key while you select the path and the photo.
