Default silhoute for cutting

My sons birthday is this weekend. He's gonna be 15 going on hospitilization he don't get over this teenage rebellion thing.

Anyway I'd like to take this photo of him and the dog and cut it out on the cutter and put it on a black shirt. I just can't seem to get it to look right to be cuttable.
Either I'm stupid (more than likely the case) or its not a good photo to use (which just plain stinks then).
Was hoping someone could take a lookie and see if its doable and maybe help out. I really hate asking but I have been trying for a week or so and now its crunch time.

Thanks
Mark

Hey Mark, That looks to be a very hard picture to work with. Everbody is on an angle. I would use a different pic, if I could.

Try posting the same question in the vinyl cutters section too.

Happy Veterans day early.

That looks to be a hard image to work with. Usually you need some good contrast in there to help. As Bob said, the angle is hard too. Especially with the dog.

Seth, you are fast. Nice job considering the background.. Another tough pic, though.

I thought they were looking at doing a b/w image to cut in vinyl. Maybe I was wrong.

Thanks for the help. What I want to do is take that pic (but doesn't seem like it will work) and turn it into a b&w that I can cut on the vinly cutter and then press onto a black shirt.

Like this one
turning photos into black and white only

In post number 5 by prometheus.

Sorry if I wasn't clearer early. Still learning the terminology and methods.

Thanks again for the advice and help
Mark

I think I quickly tried it with the photoshop stamp filter, and your son didn't look bad, it was the dog that you couldn't really tell what it was.
