What type of printing are you planning on doing?

Usually, the artist does not adapt the way he creates, the printer adapts to what needs to be printed.

The previous poster is correct, a good printer will be able to print whatever you give him. There are a few things you can do to make your designs a bit more print friendly.

1. Use vector software or know how to make a good bitmap file. If we are talking about screen printing your art will need to be separated into it's component colors and put onto screens. The harder you the artist makes that to do, the more it's going to cost you.

2. Give your printer PMS colors for every color in your design.

3. Save your artwork at the size you want it printed.

Those few things will guarantee you a great print and save you a bunch of green at the print shop.
