im new to screenprinting and i would love to know. what is the best file format to send to a screenprinter? ive heard jpeg but when i saved jpeg the image layers flattened? anyone who is knowledgable i would love your assistance

Ask the person you send the file to what they use. If you use the same program your good. The person might like to have it saved in something he or she likes. Start there.

In most cases for vector file requirements a .AI or .EPS file would be the most preferred file type. However if they request a rastorized image but still want layer abilities a .PSD, PhotoShop file as long as the requester has PhotoShop is your best bet!

In order to save on file size, combine the main layers together and then ZIP the file as well and this will reduce the file since some PSD files can get rather large. If its too large for email you may want to consider a file upload site like http://www.mediafire.com/ to share the file.

If your design was created in Photoshop then keep it a psd file. Most screenprinters have Photoshop, Illustrator and corel. It wouldn't hurt to ask them what version they have just in case you need to down save the file.
