I need to put a name inside of a circle and trim it out but when I do this it makes what I call half moons on top and bottom. I'm attaching what is happening and a design that I want it to look like.
just put i white rectangle in the middle with no outline, you should be fine, the image i attached has two circles with a white rectangle going through the middle. its there but it wont print because its white
I tried that but I'm not printing I'm cutting and I've tried everything??????? I guess if I can not get it to work I can always us JPSS but I would rather use vinyl. Any other suggestions.
make both your circle.....convert the middle circles outline to object......make a rectangle that you will use to trim the middle circle......place the rectangle where you want it to trim....select your rectangle, while holding shift select the inner circle.....push your trim buttom......delete your rectangle, and there you have it
Thanks, I've been working on this off and on all afternoon and I can not get it to work. I've also tried what torodesigns suggested and that works but then when I use the conture tool it has a line on the inside which will not work for cutting, why can I not get this to work. I need to get this done by tomorrow. I've done every step as you describe but then when I delete the square the circle is still there am I missing a step?????
....more to point do the two circles. Select both do a command called compound; then add rectangle bigger than the inter lip. Then select both and weld them together.
....compounding will do a cut of one to the other, like a doughnut. This also if the circles are overlapping, the part that touches well invert. So watch out for that. not on this job.
To achieve this effect what you have to do is convert your inner circle to curves and then with the shape tool (F10) right-click the line and select "Break apart". Now when you trim the circle you will get the result you want.
