Default Ssaving Ill CS2 to open in Corel X3

When I save a file in Illustrator CS2 to open it in Corel X3 what is the best format to save as ?
And if its the ai format what version should I save as. ? Any special settings that should be checked or unchecked ?
Most of what I do is gonna be cut on the vinly cutter.
