i consider myself vey knowledged in corel, but i want to expand my knowledge/artwork.

my first question is, should i learn photoshop first or illy first. i want to learn both but not sure which one would be best to learn first.

second question is, do i need to learn illy, if i already know corel pretty well. can i go between photoshop and corel pretty easy, or is that a problem. either way im still going to learn illy, i want to be a triple threat

You will be able to go between Corel & Illustrator a lot easier than Corel & Photoshop.

If you already have Corel and are comfortable with it, skip Illustrator and buy Photoshop. You don't need both Corel & Ill. since their vector files can be used interchangeably.

well, i would say to anyone who is just starting out... that for the printing industry, learning illustrator and photoshop are equally important. I use them both hand in had. I was fortunate enough to have learned both at the same time. I think i would have been lost if i knew one and not the other. There are very few designs i have made that only use one or the other. If you know corel pretty well, then learning illy wont be too much of a challenge. In your case i would focus a bit more on photoshop then. Learn them both! Its your best bet.
