Default how could i make this image work?

Hi guys , Im new here. I apologize for asking such a repeated question but.. heres the scenerio. Im in a band and we're releasing our 2nd CD in 8 days. We decided to go all diy this time and make / print everything ourselves which is great, but i've run into a problem with the cover art.

Another member of the band has turned to the dakside and wants to use a full color picture and glue them onto the front of the cd jackets. i am definitely not feeling it and would like to be able to turn it into a series of dots and use only black ink if possible.

I have photoshop and my first thought was to grayscale it than bitmap it, but i really don't know much about that kind of stuff. is that right? i read up on it a bit and saw you should use 230 or better with the screen. i used diffusion dither . not sure what to set the dpi, if im even heading in the right direction.

heres the image - its gonna be on a cd jacket so its only gonna be 3 or 4 inches big. also is a picture of the shirt design. The image we used was already dotted or halftoned or whatever its called (pay no mind to the cheesy fonts)

any help would be awesome.

Are you going to screen print the cd jackets onto paper?

Hmmm. You might try 300 or higher mesh for flat stock and water or solvent ink. You can bitmap the image in p-s. or Just output the image to a postscript printer or rip and use a 65-80 lpi dot frequency. If this is what you're after.
