Are you asking how to print shirts like that or how to design artwork like that?

If artwork, what kind of software do you have now? If you have created art on paper, it can always be scanned to make it a digital print.

If you find yourself wanting to create cool stuff, I recommend going to design school. Even a few classes in illustration, graphic design, Illustrator and Photoshop will get you much closer to being able to do that kind of work.

How about
  • hard work?
  • trial & error?
  • practise makes perfect?
If you don't already have graphics software, download Inkscape. Draw Freely. (Open Source vector graphics editor, with capabilities similar to Illustrator, CorelDraw etc.) Is free.

Then arm yourself with some really cool vector packs from GoMedia. I think they have the kind of artwork similar to those shown in your links. Check out the freebies and tutorials.

Try checking out www.Gomedia.us, they have some tutorials and tips. It may help you get started.

put some effort in and you will be able to design stuff like that, of course you will need software - photoshop and illustrator if you are a pro you should have these. I would recommend that you sign up over at deviantArt where you will be able to grab resources for doing grunge design, gomedia is ok but no comparison with the sheer amount of FREE resources at deviantArt.
here are a few links directly to the resources:

deviantArt.com - Home

dA application resources - Brushes, Shapes, Actions and so on for Ps, Ai, GIMP and co.

dA resources - General Resources for Designers and (Digital) Artists: Fonts, Stock Images, Textures, 3d Models and so on.

dA Tutorials
- Learning by Doing is the way to go, Photoshop techniques, Drawing, HTML, 3d Modelling - Get your Knowledge.

the Deviants themselves offer some wicked stuff and are the Real Resource - visit a deviants page - check out the deviants Gallery, if you like their work then the chances are that you will find stuff in their Faves that is relevant to the type fo work they are doing (and that you want to do) - click on a Fave and you will be whisked off to the next Deviation or Deviant, finding resources this way is much more fun and inspiring than just cruising through brushes and shapes preview thumbnails.

dA Search - with the Deviations submissions counter at 65,380,023 !!! WOW over 65 million submissions as I write this (check the score now HERE) you can either surf dA for the rest of your days and not have to see the same thing twice, or effectively find the kind of stuff youre looking for by using the Search function which works both sitewide or contextually, with the massive amounts of data that gets pushed around at dA thats no small feat.

Once you have started to REALLY TRY to design stuff like this you won´t be able to stop. And dA will probably become your second home...

Of course getting that "Great Design" down is not even half of the battle - How to get that cool stuff you did onto t-shirts is the matter at hand here at T-Shirt Forums, and the Technical Help is why I am here in the first place, I can design the stuff but now I need to start getting it on chests and backs and sleeves...

I agree with those who suggest studying your craft first. Before the computer, if you were passionate about making any kind of art you bought a sketchbook. If you wanted to be a professional you went to art school.

Buying a computer and obtaining software will no sooner make one an artist than buying a guitar will gain you entry to the stages of the world. Software is but a tool, as is a piano or a pencil. Just as a great writer knows which words to put where to captivate you, only knowledge of space, line, color, composition, drawing and the willingness to spend countless hours perfecting your craft will make you anything more than mediocre.

Ownership of a tool is no guarantee of its mastery. Yes, the bar of mediocrity has been raised considerably via the computer. I wouldn't have dreamed of having these capabilities at my disposal when I bought my first sketchbook, nor years later when I entered the design business. We had markers and t-squares and pens. We thought that was as good as it was ever going to get.

Some great resources are listed above. I'd add to that the expansion of your visual aesthetic into the world of fine art. With a capital A. The meaning and the principles run far deeper than the latest trend and the basis of all things visual is to be found there.
