How do I outline letters in ai? Or outline anything in ai? I brought a circulat text in as a jpg then saved it as a copy in ai. I want to add red outlines around some letters and splatter marks. Thnks
go to window/show stroke
that will open up your stroke pallet..
select the art work you want to outline
go to your stroke pallet
assign the stroke however many points you want it to be and select the color. Lots of options in that pallet.. play around a bit
once you apply your stroke, you can go to your brushes pallet also and apply some funky brush fills to it. Its pretty cool.. The more you learn the more you want to play around and figure it all out. I've been doing this for years and just about every day i stumble upon some little technique or something i didnt know before

If you are talking about an image that you changed to an AI. and you want to add a stroke outline, you will need to use the Pen Tool to add the Vectored red Stroke. If it's not vectored...
If you aren't talking about that, 'what they said'...
If that is the case, I'd suggest going to YouTube and searching for, "illustrator pen tool", that ought to bring up plenty of videos, and be sure to look at the right hand side for more related stuff that may help you there.
