Default Need help with a spot color imagine going vector

Ok i am new at this whole tshirt design thing... so if this is a dumb question i apologize.
I watched Mentinkizm's youtube video on how to spot color seperate my photoshop cs3 design. Since i did not make this image in illustrator it is in pixels and not vector. Is there anyway to get each seperate channels to open up in illustrator so i can use the live trace? I can use the live trace on the whole image but i need the channels to send to my screen printer.

Thanks!

Go to your channels palette in Photoshop and select them one by one. Save each channel as a separate file and live trace separately in Illustrator.

Or, copy and paste each channel into a separate layer, and when you import in Illustrator you can preserve the layers and trace each one separately.

You would think there would be an easier way, but I don't know of one.
