I have been doing cadcut and print xfer for a while now i have also been getting my screens developed elsewhere but this will be my 1st foray into developing my own screens.
i have a 5 colour image that i need to screenprint as a mono imagei use photoshop and coreldraw x3 if any kind soul could point me in the right direction
ok i see that and i apologise for being dumb but on printing it all comes out in shades of grey, i have tried setting it to halftone but the image(2213x2029 by 300 dpi)looks like it`s behind a frosted window
image >adjustments>brightness / contrasts...or image>adjustments>curves.... play with both and see what you get maybe post the image then we'll know what your trying to do
This is the original image, i would like to print it as a single colour (white on black) with each colour printed at `different densities`? of ink.
thank you for your patience

sorry , there is no easy button on this one....I messed around with it a little and when it was greyscale all the colored ballons have the same color value so they all come out a very similar shade of grey.....to do it right I would first cut the colors out of the balloons and replace it with varying shades of grey
thanks, i`ve done the job in vinyl now. i just thought it would be an easy shoe-in to process my own screen i think i`ll start with some spot colour screens 1st
was i right with the postscript printer? i have an epson r1800 which i`m told has this ability i`ll have a closer look when i have time meanwhile i need someone in the uk who can print the masks for me
Check out ghostview for halftones. You can then use a non postscript printer. There is an excellent tutorial here on the forums. Jus search for ghostscript and tuturial.
Good luck...

your epson most likely doesn't have the ability alone to rip halftones it will need a RIP software plugin...maybe like the ghostscipt mentioned above.....
there is also the image> mode>bitmap>halftone technique in photoshop, this will allow you to bypass rip software I've had some good results on easy stuff with it....good luck

i tried that but i found the `blocks` a big unless of course imake the image massively oversize and then reduce it for print?
