Default exporting to other countries...

Hi, when u export your garments to only 1 retailer in lets say England, do u need to do that through a customs broker and label it was a commerical shipment (which it is). Or can u just ship it at your post office, would that be illegal to just ship it normally since it's for resale? How would one export to retailers lets say in Europe?
thanks

We just use UPS, they have all the export docs that pop up when you address it. Its simple, the customer pays any dutys for its country.

Make sure that you have all your documents covered. In my current job (until I can get set up in the garment gig), there are so many rules and regulations. I currently work in the electronics world and there are a number or rules you have to follow. UPS, FedEx and DHL can help you with the export documentation but I would suggest that you dot your "i's" and cross your "t's". If in doubt, consult an export specialist. If you don't follow all the government rules for exportation, you could get fined (which can be very steep) and/or be prohibited from exporting in the future. We had seen a few examples where the fines were north of $250K and it had nothing to do with selling to Saddam Hussein. I'm not trying to throw any fear out, but just be aware that there are rules to follow. Don't cut corners otherwise it could end up costing you more than you know.

FWIW
