Need to Register?

Hi All,

Need some help. I'm helping a company create shirts and I only have their logos from their website. I need to provide the screenprinter vector AI files. Do I need someone to recreate their logo or can I save their logo on their website then convert to AI files???

usually using images off of a website means you are using the low resolution files used by the webdesigner to make the page download fast in your browser window.

the company should have a copy of the original artwork, be it hard copy or digital, that you can then convert or recreate. if they don't the artist that created it should. ask the company if they do if not you'll have to start from scratch. usually printers ask for at least a file of at least 300 dpi (screen) or vector art. which an image off a website is not. good luck.

don't forget that the jpg files are raster images...not vector....your guy will probably want them vectored

if you have CS2 or CS3 you could try the live trace... but it's not so great all the time...

learn to use Illustrator and redraw it using the JPEG as a template file
