Default Photoshop Stamp Filter Trouble

I'm working on a design and sometimes I will just open up photoshop and play around with an image in 72dpi, figure out what I direction I want to go with it, and then I redo it in 300. This is more comfortable for me because I am used to working in 72 and I like having my item viewable at 100% without having to scroll around.

Anyway, so I did this really cool stamp effect on a picture in 72 and got the settings just how I wanted them, text, other effects, etc. So I like what I got. Save it as a test. I go to redo it in 300 and I realize that the stamp effect isn't having the same effect on my image now that it has an upgraded pixel count. Now I need figure out how to go about creating the look of the 72 graphic while keeping the 300. If anyone can follow what I'm trying to describe and could help me out I would greatly appriciate it. Thanks

Ok, I uploaded the image to give you guys a better idea of what I'm talking about. The one on the top is 300, the bottom is 72. For the purpose of the design I'm working on the bottom would be the most desirable image. When I preformed the stamp filter effect with my image at 72 dpi it came out like white you see on the bottom. When I enlarged the image and bumped it up to 300 I could not replicate the look of the 72 dpi variant no matter how much I played with the stamp filter settings. I'm assuming that its just giving more data cuz the computer has more information to apply to filter too, but I figure there has to create something like the image on the bottom, but in 300 dpi.

It's a mathematical thing. It's apply the same effect, there is just more information there. A couple of things to try are: 1. Get used to working at 300 dpi. It doesn't change the way you view the file. You can zoom in or out. 2. Work on the file at 72 dpi, then scale the image up to 300 dpi. Since it is B/W, there shouldn't be much in the image that get's changed. There are quite a few ways to blow the image up and keep the detail the same.
