Default Transparent items in Illustrator

Reasonably experienced designer using Illustrator CS2.

My Screen Printer claims I may or may not have problems with artwork using transparent commands for vector objects.

Does anyone else have problems with outputting Illustrator with transparent objects?

I was careful to not stack transparent objects on top of each other thinking that would help.

Thanks for the response!

Main problem with transparent objects is that the colors turn to CMYK instead of separating as spots.

Both Corel And Illustrator software do support for transparent objects. Its better to post your project online in ILLUS format for helpers to check. What is the SPECIFIC problem you are having?

No specific problem with a document, just that my screen printer said "no transparent objects, MAY cause problems".

One of the problems with transparent objects, is that they were introduced into programs, without a lot of printers being able to handle them. One big problem, is when you use spot colors. Transparency, shadows, glows and such are trickier to deal with.

If your printer can take Photoshop (or raster) images, I would supply them with those. There are two ways to do that. One, export the file from Illustrator as a raster image. Two, when you are done, open the file in Photoshop and save it out.
