Default Help with CorelDraw X4

I am currently doing the trial of CorelDraw X4 and find it to be extremely overwhelming. I am new to these sorts of program and when I try to draw my pictures, they come out looking nothing like my sketches or just look very bad.

Is there a good book or website or video tutorial that someone can point me to, that will help me out with this.

Thanks

Josh

Are you trying to recreate sketches with a mouse? Or what is it specifically you are trying to do that you can't?

Re-create the sketch with a mouse.

I tried to import it into CorelDraw too, but I couldn't figure out how to edit a pencil drawing.

check your X4 help for for coreltrace. You can import your picture, run trace and it will convert your image to a vector file which will allow you to edit it.

learning to draw freehand with a mouse takes some practice - a lot of it in fact LOL - just like learning to draw with a pencil did. or.......if you budget permits, splurge on a graphics tablet with a stylus - it'll feel much more 'natural' in your hand than the mouse. just don't get the teeny one - no matter what they tell you, size DOES matter - and bigger is better with those tablets!!
