I am super new to any kind of graphics using a computer. I have Photoshop CS3 & Illustrator CS3. I want to be able to fill objects with a carbon fiber looking design. How can this be achieved? I hope I attached 2 examples
Re: I need to fill an object with a carbon fiber look
You can create a clipping mask that will make letters, shapes, etc look like they are filled with that. Arrange it so the carbon fiber layer is above whichever layer has the shape/text/etc that you are clipping to. Then right click on the layer with the shapes/etc and choose Create Clipping Mask.

what you need to do is open that texture file in photoshop, select the whole file, then edit->define pattern. Now you have this weave in your patterns list. Then select the area you want to fill with this new pattern.(with wand or color range), then edit->fill->contents->pattern and select your new pattern. There you go an area filled with that weave design.
