Question Newbie Art Class Project Help

Hello all,

I'm new to this website so please bear with me.

For my art class I have decided to create a t-shirt but it would include many colors, possibly some embroidery, and maybe a heat-pressed section to give it a very varied texture, feel, and look. I am greatly influenced by these shirts and it may end up looking like a similar design to these:

I'm just lost as to whether it would be possible and if so what method (screen-printing, etc.) would be the best. If I understand correctly, screen-printing requires each color to be on a different layer so maybe that would be impossible.

Thanks ahead of time,

cjsidler

This one will most likely take a screen printer or very good printer on here to help you out with.

The multiple colors makes it tough to screenprint, plus they are oversized screens so that could end up costing you a lot.
DTG might not be able to do the entire thing, but I am not an expert, they may be able to break it up into two prints.
Oversized designs with multiple colors is definitely doable so you can do it, but your minimum may be high so you will mos tlikely need to have a lot of them presold to justifiy the printing.

Hopefully someone will chime in on here. I would like to know what people think the costs would be and the best way to get these done, as I have some designs similar.

that design is possible... are you going to print it yourself?
here's a link to a belt printer website...

Thanks for the replies, guys.

No, I'm not doing it by myself because I don't have the materials.

Its good to hear that its possible though!

I'll just have to find someone nearby unless you think that You Design It would work?

One more question, in Photoshop or Illustrator when making the design, do I choose inches for the scale rather than pixels and like use a tape measure to measure out the size on the shirt to see how it'll fit exactly? I never know how many pixels or whatever when working on a new design.

Thanks,

cjsidler
