Default Photoshop-Cutter-HeatPress..?

Heya folks.
I have a question. (Wow really?)
It could belong here, or the Heat Press forum.
I'm going to be heat pressing some garments very soon and I'm working on some designs. I understand Vector imaging is the best method in the image design process. However most of my skill is in Photoshop CS3. I know my way around Illustrator only to a degree... my question is, regardless of the price I'd pay for any product, is there any way in which I can keep my designing in Photoshop, and be able to print and heat press onto garments with equal quality to vector? I plan to use the Roland GX24 Cutter. Most of our inventory will include dark garments.
Any advice would rock my socks.
Cheers,
Markus

As long as the resolution is good, you shouldn't have any quality problems. What resolution? 300 ppi max, but you could probably even do a decent job at 150 ppi.

If you are planning on doing any contour cutting with the GX-24 (especially if you don't want a "box" on dark garments), then I would suggest getting better at Illustrator, to make your contour cut lines. You can use CustStudio to produce them, but it is not as good as doing it yourself.

If you are just doing vinyl cutting, then I would suggest getting better at Illustrator. Because that is where a lot of your work will be for that medium.
