[CorelDraw] - Need help with new dtg and printing on darks...
I am really new at this, Have brand new dtg, no prob on whites, but something as basic as lettering on darks is driving me crazy. I know I am missing something, but the white layer goes down as a block.. in other words, if the letters are one inch high, I get a white block 1 inch by 8 inches (if the word is that wide), then just the letters print over that. What am I doing wrong??

I usually uses Photo shop, but that is usually the problem I run into when I get a white box. try saving it as a Gif with a Transparent background and printing it then.
Re: Need help with new dtg and printing on darks...
I don't have a Kiosk, so forgive me if I'm wrong...but isn't a .gif going to be a huge sacrifice in quality, unless the design is huge, swarthing blocks of solid color? Aren't they are limited to 8-bit (256 or fewer colors) palettes. Seems to me that would be like digitally cross-stitching the image.

Ok I have the HM1 so its similar. Here are a couple of things to try. First which rip software are you using? is it rip pro or print pro? I would thing you have rip pro since it is a new machine correct? Try these steps and see if this fixes your problem.
1. First type your text in corel and get that ready what ever it is.
2. After art work is prepared go to your print menu in corel draw and click on advanced.
in the advanced menu scroll down to layer type and select color layer auto mask. On your density select Medium, also input what dpi you want. Make sure once you select color layer auto mask that you have your media type to dark or black cotton.
3. select print
These are the settings you should be able to use to get the correct underbase. Let me know if this works, if it doesnt I will see what else I can think of to help you.
