welll, it is only one image. I am supposing you need 2 items to make a weld?
i think my main point of doing this is supposedly to make a copy of the shape of the logo, and then make it a solid color (such as black) so then this shape can be used for the cutter to use as the shape to cut around...
Needs to be vector art. Fonts need to be curves. Make all the objects in the logo the same color. Go to arrange, shaping and hit weld. Should give you a solid logo in your chosen color.
Thanks. One last question, i was told in order to do this, the image needs be a vector.
The images I am using are AI files, but when I import AI into Corel i get errors. What format is acceptable to Corel, that I can make from my AI file?
Thank you!!!

I figured out the weld part it works .... (SOMETIMES) !!!
I am having a real problem... Using CorelDraw 12... Whenever I have select my art and go to Weld.. it pauses, and then it gives me the A.R.M. message, Application Recovery Manager.. saying I have an error and to save and exit.. But it never welds it.. Only once or twice did I weld successfully.. Every other time, I got this error. Is this a known bug, or is there a setting or something? Anyone ever come across this?
tried to do a weld, this time it just freezes, no Application Recovery Manager window pops up...
I notice that when I select my design, it says "420 objects selected"... could it be that my design has too many objects? Is there a way to minimize the amount of objects in my design? then maybe when I weld it may not freeze? My design is in AI format... please help!!
i only have 1GB RAM on that machine.. how much memory allocated? how do i configure that? i use a PC.
But after much waiting last night, it does let me weld, just takes forever and I can't touch the machine while it is in the process so i def think it is a memory issue.
on a side note, I was wondering if u could help me with a Coreldraw function? If i have an image, and then I have drawn a rectangle around the image.. but then I want to select the image only and not the rectangle around it, how do I do that? Everytime i try to click on the image, it would only select some of the curves, or it will select everything, including the drawn rectangle around it?

thanks for all the help.
From memory question: Menu->Tools->Options->Workspace->Memory. Here you adjust the percentage of the total memory you have in your PC, that Corel Draw can use. (Defaults to 25%, should run it up to at least 75%)
On Rectangle selection:
Right click on the rectangle and then from the popup menu, select Order->Back One (or Back of Page, etc.) That will put the rectangle behind whatever you drawn it upon and allow you to select all that was 'behind' the rectangle.
