Default **HELP: Screen Printer say files are not PRINT READY **

Hi,

I'm trying to get some tshirts printed up by Jakprints. I had a designer create the designs for me and they provided "ai" files. The lady at jakprints said the files are not "Print Ready" and the designer told me they should be able to print using those files.

I"m confused here......

The artwork may not be in spot color. I have people send me stuff in vector format with 10 different swatch colors. I have to condense it down to the number of colors they want printed. It may not be to size, or it may be a .jpg saved in a .ai document. Those are the usual problems that I run into.

i really have no idea how they separate colors for
printing... but this is my 2cents

i went to Jakprints website and saw that they color
separate inhouse... i suspect your artwork has a
lot of fading and may not be good for spot color printing

Hi!
Its better to ask Jakprints why the artwork is not print ready. What are the reasons? And send those reasons to your designer. If the reasons are nice and clear, the designer will be able to clear the problems fast.

That's what I was going to say. Why didn't you ask the lady what she needed?
