Seriou question, Rodney ... when you said the design should not have your logo, does that include any mention of t-shirt forums???

| Re: Discussion: T-Shirt Forums 3 Year Anniversary T-Shirt Design Extravaganza contest I've got a few questions about the rules.
When it comes to "art", I assume it is correct that all images should be "for commercial use"?
The art allows for 4 colors, does this include 4 process colors?
The art calls for 4 colors, is foil applied to a screen printed adhesive considered 1 color or 2.
Then the detail of the artwork is important, is it OK to use a zoom bubble inside the template?
When using foreign languages, is there any way to express a description with the template?
Will any pre-judging be done for "anti-community" themes of commonity be done prior to the fair and impartial vote of the members?
The rules do not have any age restriction on the age range of the art. Is pg-13 artwork allowed? NC-17?

When it comes to "art", I assume it is correct that all images should be "for commercial use"? | | | | | | Yes, they should be for commercial use and the person submitting the design should have full ownership of the design they submit. | Quote:
The art allows for 4 colors, does this include 4 process colors? | | | | | | Good question. 4 spot colors in the case of this contest. | Quote:
The art calls for 4 colors, is foil applied to a screen printed adhesive considered 1 color or 2. | | | | | | The art can be 1-4 colors, it doesn't have to be 4 colors exactly. I would consider foil to just be one color for the purposes of this contest. | Quote:
Then the detail of the artwork is important, is it OK to use a zoom bubble inside the template? | | | | | | Most definitely. I provided the template mostly so there would be some consistency between the entries, to make them easier to judge side by side. But if you need to put a zoom to show the intricacy of the design, you are more than welcome. | Quote:
When using foreign languages, is there any way to express a description with the template? | | | | | | No, the languages should "speak for themselves" as part of the overall design. Hopefully the design "Title" will help people also understand the use of foreign languages. | Quote:
Will any pre-judging be done for "anti-community" themes of commonity be done prior to the fair and impartial vote of the members? | | | | | | Yes, designs that don't fit the theme won't be accepted. This will be judged by me. Last year there were a few random entries that didn't come close to the theme | Quote:
The rules do not have any age restriction on the age range of the art. Is pg-13 artwork allowed? NC-17? | | | | | | It should be for general audiences. So G is preferred. Not sure what the pg-13 design would look like, so it's hard to make a call on that.

What about halftones and mesh tricks? By mesh trick i mean things like printing a solid area using a 305 mesh in order to produce a semi translucent color? "obey" shirts often use these sort of things. | | | | | | That would probably work fine. | Quote:
If 2 hits of white are required, does that still count as 1 color? | | | | | | Yep. Just one color. | Quote:
To me, this image says "community". Would such an image be prohibited? If so, can you explain which details would need to be eliminated? Is it the bare breasts?, guns? dead bodies? the french flag? or is the ideal of revolution contrary to your definition of community? | | | | | | Yes, the bare breasts part would be prohibited for this particular contest.
The other aspects seem fine, but I'm sure it all depends on how they are put together. | Quote:
I'm not trying to give you any grief, but my company conentrates on rock bands and tattoo shops. I feared that a design design like this could violate some unwritten rule, so i asked before we began. | | | | | | I understand. Good to know beforehand so you don't have to waste time on a design that might not get a chance to be voted on.
I hope this clears things up.
In the end, the designs will be voted on by the community. I just don't want offensive or off topic designs to clutter up the voting process.
Some designs last year were clearly off topic (like a design about Michael Jackson in a contest about the t-shirt industry). Some I thought were off topic, but they just required a bit of explaining by the designer. | Quote:
G-rating seems a bit excessive. At G, we couldn't even have any skulls | | | | | | I think of G as general audience, not necessarily just cartoons and smiley faces. Skulls can be for general audiences
