Not if you use DTG printing. You can put the design up for sale and then only get them printed when you actually have a sale.

Great job prometheus!...Unik Ink!

Great job everyone!

I was so unsure about the voting process....as any contest.

I didn't know if the vote was supposed to be based on the one you'd most likely wear?...(since that's the one that'd be sold online here).....

or the best interpretation of the theme?....

or the coolest design ... even if you'd never wear it?.....

or the one that seemed to have the most thought/time put into it?....

haha...contests are too fun...

I just voted for my own....glad to contribute to the forums!

...I honestly didn't think it even had a chance - my style always seems to be against the grain nowadays...that dang vector trend!

Show me a design that "Everybody" likes and I'll give you a million bucks on the spot.

That's an interesting point. How a person votes. I think that same kind of "how should I vote" process happens in all kinds of competitions. Best, coolest, original, practical, most likely to wear?

How I voted was sort of a narrowing down/process of elimination type thing: picked the designs that seemed to stand out as a "t-shirt design", ones that caught my eye, then ones that best fit the theme in my minds view of "community" (or the ones that made me think of "community" in a different way), then narrowed down to designs that I would actually wear, then eenie meenie miny moe You can see how scientific it got at the end

This makes me think you had a spreadsheet involved in the process somehow.
Except for the "eenie meenie part".

Nah, a spreadsheet would have been too complicated

I just voted for the one I would have liked to wear. Unfortunately that one didn't win, but I will be very happy wearing Robert's design as it was my 2nd favourite.

ROFGMBO ... a sympathy vote ... it doesn't count.

BTW, congrats Robert! I liked the color scheme on that one, and I'd definately wear it. But, I didn't think that it was even a contender (shows what I know) ... thought it was too abstract for the theme (also shows what I what I know).

Congrats to Drew (I thought that one would make the top two), and Unik Ink (Viva la White Shirts!)!

I didn't even think about the 3 second rule, Rodney mentioned. It's an old webmaster rule when designing web pages.
