What type of clip art would greatly help us answer. Clipart.com is a starting place.

There are a number of options out there that you could go with.

A quick list of options:

Adobe Illustrator - pricey, can do a great job and is used by professionals. Has an element in it where you use a program called adobe exchange that consist of clipart and is updated online as well. Can do several types of images and there are a lot of plugins for it.

Corel Draw - similar to illustrator, older version came with clipart bundles not sure if it still sells with them or not. Many people uses this as well, can be pricey depending on the version you want to use, also has a lot of plugins that can be used in conjunction with it. Produces vectorized images similar to illustrator as well.

Adobe Photoshop - A intermediate program (not as elaborate as Illustrator) but can do a lot of collages, photo imagining and can uses some brush packages that are out there as well.

There all also a number of freeware programs out there, haven't use them personally but do know they exist. If interested search GIMP I think that is one of the more popular ones out there.

Please not if you are looking for clipart there are a number of suites that can be purchased at retail locations as well as online. If your interested in creating your own images, shapes, etc. Vector images can be easily resize while still keeping there detail and quality opposed to that of raster image types such as gif, jpeg, and bmp.

Hope this helps,

~ Tim

If you are looking for one of those progams that automate the process, I'm not sure there is something out there, that is quality. There are programs that Hanes makes for consumers that you drop a graphic and place some text, etc. Not sure what you get out of it though. As mentioned, you can go with clipart.com or one of those Clipart Explosion CD bundles, that come with a million clip arts.

Hi! Imprintables warehouse has a CLIPART program for $150.00. They say it is for advanced grahics. However they told me about a new software that is coming soon availble online only. They are not charging for it if you purchase $500.00 every 120 days from Imprintables and or a few other places combined...

check it out at Cadworx Live

But if anyone can help me, I can't even seem to get simple graphics imported in from clipart to my cutter. It is US Cutter. The graphics said "Vinyl ready" and were EPS.

when sent to cut it would not recogonize it...I'm at a loss. the rep hasn't returned my calls, My designs are suffering since i can only cut lettering, Please advise

Go Media's arsenal has some really cool clip art-it is vector based and works great in Corel...by the way, you can find inexpensive corel x3 on amazon.com around 100 bucks

If you're really going to be serious I would go with Illustrator. It's almost the industry standard when it comes to graphic design work.

Illustrator is good...Corel is the standard for screenprinting. Illy can be a bit tough if you dont have much experience with design programs

Illustrator has a lot of fans, but I have always felt that Ilustrator was very user unfriendly. Idunno - maybe it's just me.

Cadworx Live is great looking, but it only supports a limited few plotters. I wish there was something like it, that supported by Refine721
