hi, dumb newbie here, .

i can,t get text on screen. what am i doing wrong?

I am not familiar with inkscape but here are some tutorials...Inkscape. Draw Freely.

thanks euan, i have skipped through that info a couple of times yesterday.
it looks as though i have a few days of reading .

i watched a tutorial on youtube by heathenx 3 times yesterday it was on text.

i did the same things he did on the tool bar, but i still could not get text on my page,

Is your fill color white? if it is your text won't show up against the white background.

Is your layer visible?

Have selected a font that is only all caps? Where you have to use shift or caps lock for the font to show.

Is your master opacity set to 0%?

Try setting the font size larger so you can see it, maybe its too small to see..

thanks craig, the font was to small i could only see faint lines
i had to put it up to highest to get the size i wanted.
