I have just bought my g/f a Ce5000-60 cutter, I have a problem.
I have just forked out for corel draw, and being that we didnt have it before, bought the corel draw X4 version.
Now The cutter came with Cutting Master 2 plugin, which I have installed, but when I go to 'application launcher' on Coreldraw, there is no cutting option, simply the other corel programs that came bundled
When I look into it, the cutting master software says 'corel draw 10-x3.. not x4, but I thought that this was because x4 was not out when they ade the software
I installed correll draw, then installed the Cutting Master software, did I do it in the wrong order, or is it not compatable?
My g/f is away for a few days and I really wanted to suprise her with it all up and running..
I think you will need to get a driver from your vendor/manufacturer. Didn't the cutter come with a cutting program? Can't you cut and paste into it? I use the wire frame view in Corel...copy and the paste into cut studio..even though I could cut from corel..
Temporarily you will need to import your drawings into ROBO Master-Pro until they come out with a plotter driver for X4.
Each version of CorelDRAW needs a different driver to run your plotter. It would be the same with your Graphtec or a Roland. I tried to warn people of this when X4 first came out, but others assured me that these plotters would run in X4 without an updated driver.
Yes, you did everything in the right order. It's just that the driver for your plotter isn't set up for X4 yet.
It shouldn't be too long before Graphtec updates their drivers for X4. CorelDRAW is VERY big in the sign industry, and they would be making a mistake to take too long to update their software.
Another thing you may want to check: Look in your cutter's software directory(s) and see if you find a file of a .gms suffix (<xxxxxx>.gms). If you find one, then copy it to <drive>\Program Files\Corel\CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X4\Draw\GMS folder. The gms file is a compiled macro, and as such, 99.9% of X3 macros will run under X4.
That will put the macro into Corel Draw. From there, go to Tools->Customization and setup an icon onto one of the toolbars (or create your own toolbar) to invoke the macro. Or you could always go to the Tools->Macros->Run Macro and select the cutting macro from that menu. (if you did indeed, have a GMS file to copy over.)

I did a search for the .gms files, and the only ones on my pc are the Corel ones, none in the cutting software folders at all
