Re: Which software is more user friendly?? Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop??
I am a pshop addict... but recently i have been using CorelX3 and it has some great features and is pretty easy to learn... Corel is also half as much to buy(around $300)
The one big plus for photoshop though is that there are a lot of websites with tutorials for photoshop...
I can give you a boatload of links... or you can google...?
all 3 programs are amazing and are only limited by how much you want to learn...
Illustrator is cool for vector and is more on the commercial artist side... photoshop can do some amazing things and there are lots of tutorials... and Corel draw is probably the easiest learning curve...easy color separations... there is a great Corel tutorial site... I think ease of use all comes down to personal preference and "what you are used to". I'd wholeheartedly recommend downloading free trials of Illustrator, photoshop and Corel. Also download the full versions of Inkscape and GIMP (open source alternatives). You'll soon discover which is the best fit for you just by playing with them. I've used them all but now use Inkscape and GIMP for 95% of my work.

Does Corel have an equivalent to actions? I haven't used it in years, but if it doesn't, I'd say get Illustrator. Creating your own custom action sets is a HUGE time saver.

Where did that come from?
Again, I'm not arguing that one is better than the other for everyone, but we can design just fine with CorelDRAW.

Definitely! Using macros is a must.... oberonplace.com
from whats gathered there Alex will be updating all them macros to X4 eventually.
Creating actions in Illustrator is another plus. I always wanted to get into scripting with illo but it's not for me, i tried. Just not into coding. Someday when I have time or hit the lottery.

Yes, you can record what are called Macros in CorelDRAW, which are the same thing as Actions in Illy.
Re: Which software is more user friendly?? Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop??
could someone enlighten me to HOW corel draw is easier?
i've used illustrator for about 2 years now, and i have corel graphics suite x3, but i just can't seem to learn it. in Draw, the whole layout seems ancient compared to illustrator, and one thing i noticed right away is the color changing isn't as self explanitory as illustrator(where whichever color(fill or stroke) is selected, you just click the swatch and it changes. and also Draw doesn't seem to have as convenient keyboard shortcuts. but consistently i hear that people like corel better than illustrator, but i've never heard exactly why, all i've heard is "its easier to use" or "its intuitive" what does that mean though?

It's all personal preference. What's hard for you may be easy for the next person. That's what most of the graphic software recommendations boil down to. Personal preference

Ultimately, it all boils down to what you learned on. Personally I think English is easier than Spanish, but guess what I learned first? I've used both. I cut my teeth on Corel, but was really taught on Illustrator. Even with changes over the years, Illustrator is like a old pair of jeans for me.

I am also using photos in my t-shirts and have lots of ideas as well, I think we should I think that we should correspond via this website, I do not even have the graphic software i need yet. Let me know what you decide and that will help me in determining what I should buy.
Good Luck!
Re: Which software is more user friendly?? Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop??
I need a software which users can use on website to design their own T-short using predefined images and text fonts. The user can also upload the photo himself. Can somebody suggest me the solution for the same
Re: Which software is more user friendly?? Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop??
are you wanting people to be able to design on the website like on customink.com?
i'm not sure exactly how to do that, but i think that takes some serious scripting, with a strong knowledge in software programing. i don't think you can just buy a program that does that online, i think you have to code it yourself, or find a very good web designer. good luck with that, if you figure it out, let us know!
Re: Which software is more user friendly?? Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop??
I have and use all of them.. illy, photoshop, and corel..
I find some things easier in one than the other.. lol..
Its really a personal preferance tho.. and the downloading the trials is the best way to find out..
I use illy the most.. .. as that is what i have both my roland plotter and my versacamm set up to work out of.. The older plotter i have working out of corel and sign-lab lol..
I have more programs than any 4 people need rof..
But because i deal with customers and their art so much.. It realy helps to be at least a little at ease with all of the programs.
