Default Raster vs. Vector - The age old question

Hi all,

New to T-Shirt Forums, but wanted to get your opinion on screenprinting raster vs. vector artwork. I'm new to screenprinting so I'm not going to pretend that I know much about it. However, I do have over 17 years in the design industry and do know a thing or two about raster and vector artwork.

I worked with a company a little while back designing for t-shirts and they suggested I convert all my artwork to vector using Corel Draw. Obviously the app industry standard. However, alot of my work has stress marks built in with alot of detail. In order to print this type of detail am I limited to the way the shirt is made? I don't want to convert all of my work especially if it was made to look a special way. Most cartoon work I do is done as vectors but the distressed, tribal type stuff I'm doing is my main goal.

Any thoughts? Thanks.

Found a link, if anyone's interested. Go to:

Select Raster vs. Vector Graphics

Answers a few questions for me, but not all.

If you could give an example of your work, it might help pin down the options.

And welcome to the forums!!
