Default How do you get this look?

hey guys hows it goin,

i saw this poster on myspace and was curious if anyone knows of a tutorial for illustrator or photoshop on how to get this look, mainly focusing on the look of the girl ( meaning all the tiny dots) screen printing purposes.

any help would be appreciated !

those tiny dots are halftones.


on photoshop...

when you have a RGB CMYK, or Grayscale file you go to

IMAGE then go to MODE then change it to .BPM file...

a screen will pop up and from the drop down menu you choose halftone.

then you play with the settings and it will convert your design into B/W with the halftone dots

you can do halftone directly in AI, it's in the effect palette. if you need help, it is in their help menu.

Can anyone tell me how to preview halftone dots in Illustrator to display on screen how it will look before printing?

Effect> Pixellate > Color Halftone...

Also, you can set the dot frequency in the print dialog, which will probably give you better results/more control.

Sell it, and use the proceeds to buy Illustrator?

(sorry, couldn't resist -- I've always felt that Corel's features were a bit lacking compared to Illustrator's)
