[Photoshop] - My c88+ w/ sublimation ink CIS don't print this graphic
My c88+ w/ sublimation ink CIS don't print this graphic
can anybody tell me what's the problem on this graphic? my printer does not recognize the graphic but it prints normally when i try other graphic/s.
it does not recognize the gradients.
it's just flat red color and black. the shades of orange is off when printing.
Re: My c88+ w/ sublimation ink CIS don't print this graphic
are you sure it's not printing at all - or is it just taking it a long time to spool?.....that's a pretty intensive graphic and depending on what size you're trying to output it could take it awhile to get it spooled.
sorry i just re-read your post - long day - red is the hardest color.....are you using profiles specifically for your ink? sometimes getting a great red will take a little fiddling with on your color settings....

thanks a lot guys!
I'm reading this as you have not pressed it yet.
If you have just printed it, and have it in front of you unpressed, then it will look pretty bad, it's not until you actually do the pressing it starts to look right on the actual garment, or whatever you plan on sublimating it to.
Like what was already said, reds are really hard to get right, they lack detail if the settings are not right, or at least, I am having a slight problem with that.
I print on mugs and it's beautiful, but on mouse pads it's flat, but only in the reds.
If you haven't pressed it yet, try it, then see what you think.
The ICC profiles are VERY important, especially on something with such a close gradation as this.
Re: My c88+ w/ sublimation ink CIS don't print this graphic
I am with Randy...what sublimation ink are you using and make sure you have installed the ICC profile that SHOULD have been with your ink..Sublijet, Artainium and Sulibrite all have different profiles for EACH graphic program..that is for Artainium for example there is a profile for Corel, another for Photoshop and another for Illustrator...you have to make sure you have the correct one.
and yes when first printed, even with the correct profile, the image will look grayed out and flat..

definitely try a test print on yard goods if you don't want to burn a shirt! i'm also seeing that you're using a jpeg format - i'm not a particular fan of them, tho for some images they're fine. with that one tho, i'd go back to the original and export as a tif - warning! - it will make a HUGE file but keeps more detail intact.

Re: My c88+ w/ sublimation ink CIS don't print this graphic
Also remember that what you see on your screen is not what you are going to get printed. Those shades are too close to each other and red is a very difficult color to deal with as mentioned (the other difficult colors being, green, blue, yellow, pink, cyan, magenta, black, etc. ). I've seen this at a lot of levels. If you are using photoshop, try using the "View>Proof Colors" setting as you work. This will give you a little better idea as to how it will look. You can also use "View>Gamut Warning" to help as well. Just looking at that graphic I can tell that it is too bright. I bet the bright reds are printing dull and making the shades blend in together.
