Default Artwork Submission to ScreenPrinter Help

hello,

i'm a newbie to the screenprinting world. I have my first set of graphics ready for print. We are planing on testing 2 screen printer shops simultaneously on smaller runs to see which company we like better.

I'm needing info on how to save my graphics to be ready to submit since one of the screenprinters says they can max full front prints at a max of 16inches. We have a full front graphic we want printed and I'm trying to figure out how to save the item on Illustartor at the correct print size. They said to mesasure the medium shirt I( smallest shirt size for the print) and use that as the final print size for all shirts. Do I just save the file at a certain width in height in Illustrator. If so how do I go about saving a graphic already created at a specific width and height.. Any help pointers or directing to somewhere i can find this answers i'll appreciate

1) If it's a vector file, (you did say Illustrator) and the printer will be outputting his own films, then he can max out the size, just let him/her know what you're looking for, be exact with each other. Communication is critical. Is that 16" left to right, or top to bottom? Don't leave anything to chance. (We do contract printing, and the biggest problem we have is getting the customer to be very specific)
2)Again, if it's a vector file (don't forget to convert your text to outlines), simply group all of the elements as one group, (or select all) and drag it to the size you want. Use your rulers as a visual guide, or your info pallette, which will give you your actual dimensions. I hope this helps...

just use use the ruler (command R(mac)/cntrl R (pc)) you can also set your view to 135% that is about perfect scale where 1" actually views as 1". so you know exactly what your final product will look like. you can also print it out with page tiling if it is too bug to print on 8.5x11
