Hey there,
I have been searching for the answer to this question forever, and I just ran across this site. So here we go, hopefully someone can help me...
We are using Corel Draw x3, and have been using Corel since version 6. I am looking for a way to slightly thicken up the default registration marks and text thats displayed for our printers (file name, dpi, screen color test etc) when printing. I would even be happy with just creating my own custom default registration image. I like using Corel's registration marking system, its quick and easy I just need the marks and fonts a bit thicker so our printers can see, read and use them on high mesh screens.
You can't, no version of Corel allows the marks to be edited. Although, you can download a crop mark generator from here... CorelDRAW/Corel DESIGNER VBA macros
I've got most of the free ones. You can make them into little buttons and put them on the toolbars so you can access them faster.
Im new to macros, but i learn quick (I do write php code for websites).
Few more questions:
First off thanks, that I think will work, but I need to customize it a bit more if possible.
Ill I need is registration / center marks on the top and bottom. I don't need the crop marks / regisrtation marks on the sides. Is there a way for me to edit the maco/image or file to achieve that as an option.
Also, where can I fint the informatio to put the specific marcro to play in my tool bar.
You dont know how much this is going to help me and make are printers happy. Thanks again, I hope you can help me customize this a bit more.
Is it possible for you to just put some text on the page (+) and place them where you need them?
I was thinking the same thing, too. It may be a problem for your screen printer, though. But if i needed to do this for myself, i'd do exactly what you're suggesting. Print separations one by one changing the color of the custom 'registration graphic/text' to that of the current separated color until i'm done.

That is an option, and I have done that in the past. However it is very time consuming, and when you print out 10+ jobs a day it can adversly affect the amount of time to output work. That is why I was hoping for a more customized option with the Corel registration options. Any other ideas? I am going to the ISS show in Longbeach this next weekend, maybe someone there can help as well. Until then, if you have any other ideas, please post them here.
When I was having some printer problems I did them myself, it is kind of hard to get it right because you have to put circles directly on top of each other and they need to print out, so you have to print out separations in one color. Then you go back to your workspace and change the color of the circles, then you print the other color out, it works it's just not as quick and easy.
Thats exactly what I am trying to avoide, too time consuming. The macro that was listed above would work pretty good, however, how can I edit/change the actuall registration marks it uses so that only the TOP and BOTTOM marks show (not the ones on the sides).

What I did to achieve registration marks was create at plus sign (converted to curves) with a circle around it and adjust the line thickness of the circle as desired). Make them a group. right click and select overprint fill and overprint outline. Copy this registration mark and paste where else desired. When you print, your registration marks should show up on each colour separation.

I have the macro that you need at work, send me an email to and I'll send it to you with instructions. I use it all day every day, good macro!
You can create your own custom marks and save them as a symbol.
Create your marks, select them adn then got to Edit> Symbol> New Symbol. It will open a dialog box for you to name it. When you want to apply it, open the symbols docker and just drag it onto the page where you want it.
As a note, when you save something as a symbol, you can use as many instances of symbols in your design as you wish. It does not increase your file size at all.
Another note.... if you drag one of your marks onto the page for registration, and want it to be exactly in line, hold the ctrl key while dragging it to the new location and right click to make a duplicate in the new location.

Trying to make the buttons like for the comp generator but I can get to the crop marks when I play but when I try to make the button for it it does not show it.
Using
tools custumization-macros.
But not listed there and not sure what to do from here.
Any help appreciated.
