Start with a square box. Draw your pattern within.
Duplicate it to the right or left & up or down any number of times.
It's usually trial & error.
You can see a pattern within that Gucci. Go ahead and draw a box over it, move it around and you'll find the spot thats the pattern. See pic.
Sorta like working with pixels almost.

Default Re: how do you create a pattern

A cool tool is the POWERCLIP tool

Create you pattern in Corel or in this case import the picture you want, make a bunch of copies to creat a fill pattern.

The finished pattern size you create will need to be bigger than the design you want the pattern in (see my attachment)

once you have you design and pattern is made.

Group the pattern

Make sure it is selected, click on Effects up in the toolbar.

Click on powerclip, place in container. Your select arrow will turn into a large black arrow.

Click on the design you want the pattern in.

That patter will be inside the design, in my example the word powerclip now has my homemade pattern.

Of course Guuci is trademarked and you should not try to reproduce that.....

Have fun with the powerclip tool you can do some cool stuff with it.
