Get help with creating your t-shirt graphics. Discuss t-shirt design software, special effect techniques, or other topics related to creating a t-shirt design on your computer.
I've created a design in Inkscape and saved it as a SVG and a EPS file.
PROBLEM: I can't open the EPS file in Inkscape.
After saving files, when I close out Inkscape, I get a message window pop-up that says"A file was saved in the format of EPS that can result in data loss. Do you wish to save in different format".
The EPS file is there, but I can't import or open it. The SVG files however open (in Inkscape) with no problem.
Is this normal? Anyone else have this problem?
I hope my new computer doesn't have this issue.

Tbis shows that all files are not ceated equal. The eps file was probably saved in a version that is later..or could be earlier...than what inkscape is looking for. This is one reason to use the mainline programs and keep up to date. I usually upgrade every other version.
Most of us will help out...send us the file and the format you want and we can send back to you
If I am not mistaken Mike just downloaded the inkscape not long ago so he should have the newest version, although I dont use that program but it sounds like maybe a corrupted file.
Maybe try resaving a copy of the SVG file as an eps and see if it saves differently.
To do this just open the SVG file and hit save but change the name so that it doesnt get rid of your original file, then select the eps option for saving. Then close and try to reopen and see what it does.

Thanks! I'll try that.
Also, you are correct. I downloaded Inkscape last week and then created several designs in Inkscape. Saved files as EPS and then could not open any of those EPS files using the same software I created the files in.
Fortunately, I also saved each file as SVG, so I can import SVG and re-save as EPS to see if that works. I'll try that tonight after work.
