Default Postscript for screen printing?

Hi, Just bought a used Epson 1280 printer. Learning alot about the techniques used to print on transperencies. Trying to get this answer:

Does my printer have Postscript for halftones? Or do I have to buy RIP software?

Thanks

No Postscript available for inkjet printers. If you want to print halftones, you will need a RIP. Some people are successful printing films without a RIP but with no halftones.

You can use a program called Ghostscript to do halftones without a RIP. Here is a tutorial that I put together a while back. Ghostscript is free.
